| During 2009, PTNNT paid Rp3.9 trillion to governments

West Sumbawa During 2009, PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (PTNNT) has paid Rp3.9 trillion for all financial obligations to the Government of Republic of Indonesia including taxes, non-taxes and royalties. The payment was made in accordance with provision described in Article 13 of the Contract of Work regarding PTNNT Financial Liabilities.
The biggest payment was Corporate Income Tax (PPh 25) of Rp3.3 trillion, followed by royalties of Rp239 billion and personal income tax (PPh 21) of Rp186 billion as the third biggest component. The corporate income tax rate applicable to PTNNT under the Contract of Work is 35%, said Arif Perdanakusumah, Senior Manager External Relations PTNNT.
Since the start of operation to the end of 2009, PTNNT has paid taxes, non-taxes and royalties amounting Rp15.149 trillion.
As a contractor of the Government of Indonesia, we are committed to complying with the financial obligations in a timely manner as per the Contract of Work and other applicable provisions, said Arif Perdanakusumah.
In addition to direct financial benefit to the government, PTNNT also generates other economic benefits through salaries of 8000 employees and contractors, goods and services procurement both local and national, as well as community development programs.*
